"This volume should appeal to the sport caver, the Civil War history buff, the genealogical fanatic, the archaeologist, and the paleontologist. Along with the usual narrative descriptions of caves that grace most publications of this nature, the author adds much of interest to the serious researcher. There is a summary of the geology, a chapter detailing the importance of Bartow County caves to the science of paleontology, an overview of Native Americans in northwest Georgia, and a section describing historical uses of caves in the study area. Pulling all of this together took the author from crawlway to cemetery, and from climb-down to courthouse. Indeed, if there is a more comprehensively researched county-specific cave survey book out there I am not aware of it."
